For those of you who like to improve your tying, what better way to test your skills than to compete against the best, whether this is within your club, or internationally.
 
Here two of the current competitions for fly tying that you might like to enter.
 
For members of the Fly Dressers Guild:-
This is a great competition for all levels of tiers.
The 2012 competition patterns are now on the FDG website. 
 
For members of the Surrey branch FDG:- 
2012 Annual fly tying competition.
The compulsory flies will be announced at the December meeting, They will then be demonstrated by John Smith at the AGM in January and entries are to be sent in by the end of April. Prize winners will be announced at the May meeting.  There are three categories:-
Novice, for tiers with less than 2 years experience and who have not won any prizes
Open, for all tiers who have not won  prizes in recognised fly dressing competitions
Expert/Professional, for all those who tie professionally or have won prizes in recognised competitions
