For sale - flies that catch fish!
Why pay 90p, £1, even £1.50 or more for a fly when you can get them for 30p each from the discount outlets? I'll give you five good reasons:
My flies cost more because they are tied individually, to order, by an angler who understands how they will be fished and how long they should last. They are tied to my exacting standards. My flies are not mass produced.
I select the most appropriate hook for each pattern and take the time to check the barb and point of each hook to ensure that it won't break or bend in normal use.
All the materials used are carefully selected and of the highest quality. I only use the best genetic cock hackle, from Whiting Farms, real seals fur and traditional materials if available.
I know that the hook shank has been correctly covered and the dressing won’t come loose or slip down the shank during use because I tied it.
The head of your fly will have two coats of varnish (minimum) and will not unravel during use, although I cannot guarentee the longevity of flies that catch lots of fish! A trout's teeth will eventually destroy even the best tied flies.
Since retiring after 33 years of service with the Metropolitan Police, I have dedicated myself to tying top quality flies to the exact specifications of my regular customers.
I can tie any fly you want, customised to your requirements. No order is too small. Generally, you can specify whether you want the flies on barbed or barbless hooks.
