Chris' Cray

An experiment to use up left over material this fly has proved very popular in the United States. Despite its small size, this fly is a true representation of a baby crayfish.

Sizes 8, 10, 12

Colours: Green; Brown; Yellow

Leaded or Unleaded

Unleaded  £1.50 each; £15 per dozen

Leaded  £1.60 each; £16 per dozen

Icelandic Gold Headed Buzzer

Tied on gold hooks with tubing that allows the gold to glow through the dressing and with a seal's fur thorax, these flies are absolutely deadly in Iceland for arctic char but just as good for trout in the UK.

Sizes 10, 12, 14

Colours: Green; Red; Yellow; Claret

£1.10 each; £11 per dozen

Red Holographic Cruncher

Developed by the competition crowd, this fly is a real fish taker in hatches of buzzers, especially the large red ones.

Sizes 10, 12, 14

£1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

Green Holographic Cruncher

As above but for green buzzer hatches - deadly on Rutland and Bewl.

Sizes 10, 12, 14

£1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

UV Cruncher

A few strands of UV flash wound into the thorax change this little fly into a must-have during hatches of black and brown buzzers. Especially good on the middle dropper if pulling a team of three or four flies.

Sizes 10, 12, 14

£1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

Daddy Longlegs

A flashy version of an old favourite, this

fly has all the trigger points.

Sizes 10, 12

£1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

Soft Hackle Attractor

Developed by accident while experimenting with Whiting black laced hen (see materials for sale), this little fly has proved a top dropper favourite in rivers and still waters.

Sizes 10, 12

Colours: Orange; Chartreuse; Red; Yellow

£1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

Pearly Cormorant

This fly was on my cast all season in 2009 and has helped me win three club matches as well as being top rod and team winners in the 2008 Police National event at Bewl.  Deadly all season for fry feeding fish.

Sizes 10, 12

Tied with goose biot cheeks

£1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

Tied with genuine jungle cock cheeks

£1.40 each; £14.00 per dozen

Pearly Fry

This fly was developed at Bewl for those infuriating days when the fish are locked onto pin fry. Simply cast and wait, if it has sunk without a take, retrieve and do it again. Takes on the drop can be savage.

Sizes 10, 12

£1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

Black Prince  and White Prince

My take on Doug Prince's famous nymph. Something a little different for your catch and release waters.

Sizes L/S 10, 12, 14  Leaded

Sizes  L/S 10, 12, 14 Gold head

Sizes L/S 10, 12, 14 Tungsten bead

Leaded  £1.20 each £12.00 per dozen

Gold Head  £1.30 each   £13 per dozen

Tungsten bead  £1.50 each   £15 per dozen

Lucky 7 Mini Lure

A great little fly for both the competition angler and those fishing small stillwaters. I especially like the realistic green and brown colours when the fish are on the damsels.

Sizes 10, 12

Colours: Damsel, Orange and Yellow; Orange; Black and Orange; Green and Yellow; Pale Tan; Claret or any colour combination you'd like!

Unweighted  £1.15 each; £11.50 per dozen

Weighted  £1.20 each; £12 per dozen

Halfback Nymph

The best general purpose searching pattern there is.  Weighted.

Sizes 10, 12, 2x Longshank

Colours: Original Red Game Hackle; Cream Hackle; Grizzle Hackle; Grizzle Hackle dyed Chartreuse

£1.15 each; £11.50 dozen

Glass Bead Daddy

Better than the Goldhead Sinking Daddy as it sinks very slowly and is often taken “on the drop”. Perfect for hard-fished catch and release waters and whenever Daddy Longlegs are around.

Size 10

Colours: Red; Olive; Brown

£1.15 each; £11.50 dozen

Early Season Emerger

It's not really an emerger, in fact I don’t know what it is but it really does work especially when the black buzzers are coming off on large numbers. Fish it single on an intermediate line or as top dropper on a team of flies.

Sizes 10, 12

£1.00 each; £10.00 dozen

Segmented Buzzers

All buzzers should display a clearly segmented body, be it through colour, material or method of tying. These buzzers are my own favourites and cover almost all eventualities.

It's important to fish these flies at the correct depth and for this reason my buzzers come in three weights: normal, medium and heavy.

These are all unleaded - the weight comes from the tying materials and /or coats of nail varnish to keep the fly slim in profile, just like the real thing.

Sizes 10, 12

Colours: Black, Silver and Red; Olive, Silver and Green; Brown, Gold and Orange

Hooks: Normal, Medium or Heavy

£1.00 each; £10.00 dozen

Biot Backed Buzzers

Something a little different for those trout that have seen everything. Tied with a goose biot as a shell back giving a contrasting colour to the thread body.

Sizes 10, 12, 14

Colours: Black and Red; Black and Orange; Black and Green; Olive and Lime Green; Brown and Tan

£1.10 each; £11.00 dozen

Competition Buzzers

Especially for Rutland and other catch and release waters. Fish them individually or as a team on the washing line. Short dressed on strong hooks, these buzzers won’t let you down.

Sizes 10, 12, 14, 16

Colours: Black; Olive; Red

£0.80 each; £8.00 dozen
