Lawrence was a good friend of mine, one of the first Irish Fly tiers I ever met. He welcomed us into the Irish shows with a warmth and hospitality that will not be forgotten. Lawrence was a silly and funny man but deep down inside there was a talented and inventive fly tier. Lawrence promoted all aspects of fly tying and in the last few years of his life developed a thriving business selling materials and most importantly from his point of view teaching others the art of fly tying. In his custom built studio his classes were legend, with students vying to provide the best cream cakes. Lawrence’s silliness reached its peak when he discovered the ultimate dubbing material, Leprechauns Pubic Hair.
